Google Announces the Best Apps and Games of 2024 on Play Store

If you’re an Android user, the Google Play Store is probably your go-to platform for downloading apps and games. With millions of choices available, Google has once again unveiled the top apps and games of the year. Here’s a look at the winners of Google Play’s Best of 2024.

In the U.S., the Best App of 2024 is Partiful, an event-planning app that combines sleek design with modern functionality. Its standout feature is the "Party Genie" tool, which helps users create invitations with ease and manage RSVPs through a shareable link.

The Best Game of 2024 is AFK Journey, a fantasy RPG that captures players’ attention with its diverse cast of characters and strategic battle system. Its immersive world and breathtaking artwork further elevate it, making it a top contender in the crowded gaming market.

In the Best Multi-device App category, Max takes the lead. Despite plans to introduce charges for password sharing, its vast collection of TV shows, movies, and original content makes it a favorite. The app’s ability to seamlessly transition across devices—from TVs to tablets and even cars with Google built-in—earned it top honors.

The Best Multi-device Game award goes to Clash of Clans, a game that, despite being over a decade old, continues to evolve. This year, the game expanded to PCs and Chromebooks, offering players a consistent experience across mobile devices, tablets, and computers.

In India, the Google Play Best of 2024 winners reflect a diverse range of apps and games. The Best App of 2024 in India is Alle - Your AI Fashion Stylist, while WhatsApp Messenger claims the Best Multi-device App. For Personal Growth, the award went to Headlyne: Daily News with AI, and Fold: Expense Tracker earned the title of Best Everyday Essential. Meanwhile, Rise: Habit List was recognized as the Best Hidden Gem, and Baby Daybook - Newborn Tracker was named Best for Watches.

In the Indian gaming scene, Squad Busters won the Best Game of 2024, and Clash of Clans was also awarded Best Multi-device Game. Bullet Echo India is the Best Pick Up and Play game, and Bloom - A Puzzle Adventure earned Best Indie Game. For Best Story, Yes, Your Grace stood out, while Battlegrounds Mobile India remains the Best Ongoing Game.

As India’s mobile gaming sector continues to grow, with 23 million new gamers added in FY24 and an overall total of 590 million, the country now ranks as the second-largest market for mobile gaming downloads in the world. The competition is fierce, but there’s always more to explore on the Play Store.
