Google's New AI Tool Help Me Create Now Active for Workspace Users

Google is rolling out a fresh AI tool for its Workspace apps, including Docs, Keep, and Gmail, aimed at enhancing productivity. The new feature, called Help Me Create, is powered by Gemini AI and is available to both free-tier and paying subscribers. It allows users to generate content starting with a blank slate, providing more flexibility than previous tools like Help Me Write.

While other AI tools from Google, such as Help Me Write, assist with responses or serve as starting points for writing tasks, they require an existing document or prompt. In contrast, Help Me Create enables users to craft entire documents from scratch by simply providing a prompt detailing their desired outcome. This makes it ideal for tasks like drafting marketing plans for product launches, creating checklists for events, or building project timelines.

What sets Help Me Create apart is its ability to generate comprehensive documents, which can include text, images, and stylized formatting. It even pulls data from other documents stored in Google Drive, allowing users to integrate relevant information easily by mentioning documents with an "@" in the prompt. To begin using this tool, users can select the Help Me Create option from a new document or navigate through File → New → Help me create.

This tool isn't entirely new, as it was previously spotted in a support document, and it is similar to another feature in development for Google Keep, which helps users organize grocery shopping lists for recipes. However, Help Me Create is now officially available, with a rollout for eligible users beginning immediately. Google anticipates completing the feature's rollout by January 9, 2025.

It's important to note that the feature is available only to users with specific plans, such as Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Google One AI Premium subscriptions. Additionally, it only works with pageless documents in English and does not include web-based results like other Gemini chatbot features.
