iOS 18.1 Beta Unveiled for iPhone 16 Series; Full Rollout Set for October

Apple Inc.  hosted its latest innovations during the highly anticipated Glowtime event, introducing the new iPhone 16 series. This new lineup includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, along with the Apple Watch Series 10 and updated AirPods. A significant highlight of the event was the announcement of upcoming updates for iOS 18.

The new iPhone 16 models will come with iOS 18 pre-installed. However, for users with older iPhone models, the update will be available next week, though it will not include the much-anticipated "Apple Intelligence" features. These advanced tools are featured in the iOS 18.1 beta, which iPhone 16 users can upgrade to immediately upon purchasing their devices, as reported by 9To5Mac.

Apple has released a special version of the iOS 18.1 beta tailored for the iPhone 16 series. This version addresses previous issues related to restoring backups from the iOS 18.1 beta, ensuring a smoother transition for users upgrading to new iPhones. Those on iOS 18.1 beta 3 with older models will experience a seamless upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, as the beta build remains consistent with the one available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The iOS 18.1 beta introduces the first wave of Apple Intelligence features, including enhanced writing tools, a "Clean Up" option in the Photos app, and new text and notification summaries. Additionally, a redesigned Siri interface is set to debut, although more advanced language models for a smarter assistant are not yet included.

Apple has announced that the full public release of iOS 18.1 is scheduled for October. Furthermore, iOS 18.2, which will introduce additional Apple Intelligence features, is expected later this year.
