The Indian Computer Emergency Team (CERT-In)Â has recently issued an important alert regarding the flaws found in Apple's iPhones, iPads, macOS and watchOS. This alert states that due to these flaws, hackers can breach the security of your device and steal your sensitive information.
Description of the defects
Hackers can do the following through these flaws found in various Apple products:
- Access to sensitive information:Â Hackers can access your personal information, such as login credentials and financial information.
- Code Injection:Â Can harm your device by inserting arbitrary code.
- Security Bypass:Â Can bypass security systems.
- Stopping service (DDoS):Â Can temporarily stop the service.
- Spoofing Attacks:Â Spoofing attacks can be performed on the target system, thereby misrepresenting the system.
Affected OS versions
According to CERT-In, the following Apple OS versions are affected:
- iOS and iPadOS:Â Below version 17.6
- macOS:
- Sonoma:Â Below version 14.6
- Ventura:Â prior to version 13.6.8
- Monterey:Â below version 12.7.6
- watchOS:Â Below version 10.6
- tvOS:Â Prior to version 17.6
- visionOS:Â Below version 1.3
Apart from this, these flaws have also been found in versions less than 17.6 of Safari web browser .
