Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu conveyed warm Christmas greetings to the nation, emphasizing the spirit of unity, love, and compassion on this joyous occasion.

In a message shared on X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi expressed, "Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.  May the teachings of Christ Jesus show all the path of peace and prosperity." Prime Minister  Modi also highlighted his participation in the Christmas celebrations hosted by the CBCI - Catholic Bishops' Conference of India, earlier this week....

 

 

At the event, PM Modi spoke about the enduring relevance of Jesus Christ's teachings, urging people to strengthen the values of love, harmony, and brotherhood in society. His address underscored the importance of fostering peace and unity through collective efforts.

President Murmu also extended her warm wishes, stating, “Merry Christmas to all! This special day reminds us of Jesus Christ’s timeless teachings of love, kindness, and compassion.” She encouraged citizens to promote equality, spread happiness, and nurture the spirit of togetherness in the community.

Christmas celebrations in Goa began with midnight masses across churches, drawing thousands of devotees. The coastal state, known for its vibrant Christmas traditions, saw homes, markets, and public spaces adorned with festive decorations, bright lights, and intricate cribs depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.

Devotees filled the churches, offering prayers and singing carols to honor Jesus Christ. Streets and beaches were bustling with residents and tourists who exchanged greetings and immersed themselves in the festivities well into the early hours.

With a significant Christian population of nearly 30%, Goa transformed into a hub of holiday cheer. The celebrations also signaled the start of the New Year season for tourists, adding to the state's lively atmosphere.
