The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2- The Rule has become the highest grossing Indian movie ever! The movie has earned Rs 1831 crores worldwide, scripting history. The film is doing business since 32 days now, and might break even more box-office records. It has surpassed Bahubali 2: The conclusion which had grossed Rs 1810 crores holding the record of highest grossing Indian movie since eight years.

Pushpa 2 released on December 5, 2024 with its paid premieres on December 4. A month since the theatre release, yet the movie is still ruling the box office. On Sunday, it earned Rs 7 crore (reported by Industry tracker Sacnilk). In its first week, the film collected Rs 725.8 crore, in the second Rs 264.8 crore, in the third week it was Rs 129.5 crore, followed by Rs 69.65 crore in the fourth week. The movie’s total domestic collection crossed Rs 1208.7 crore at the end of the fifth week.

Apart from Bahubali, Pushpa 2 has also left behind KGF: Chapter 2, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan among the others. It faced competition from Mufasa- The Lion king, Baby John and Yeh Jawani hai Deewani’s re- release.

In Hindi, the occupancy for Pushpa 2 was 21.71 percent, in Telugu it was 17.61 percent and in Tamil version the overall occupancy was 23.34 percent. The Tamil occupancy is higher than Hindi and Telugu. Bengaluru has the highest occupancy of 44.75 percent with 55 shows in the Hindi version. While in Mumbai, the occupancy was 27 percent with 467 shows. Delhi NCR has an occupancy of 16.75 percent with 614 shows.

In the Telugu version, Chennai has the highest occupancy of 44 percent with only 4 shows. Lastly, for the Tamil version, Pondicherry showed the highest occupancy of 55 percent with just one show.   

Pushpa 2- The Rule is the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise that released in 2021. Directed by Sukumar, the movie has a gripping narrative and class action that appealed the masses. It was the most anticipated movies of 2024. The story revolves around Pushpa, the sandalwood mafia who establishes his rule amidst police restrictions and conflict with the business fellows.

Sharing the news on X, the official handle of the film posted, “Pushpa2TheRule is now Indian Cinema’s INDUSTRY HIT with THE HIGHEST EVER COLLECTION FOR A MOVIE IN INDIA. THE WILDFIRE BLOCKBUSTER crosses a gross of 1831 CRORES in 32 days worldwide.”

Meanwhile, actor Allu Arjun visited KIMS hospital in Begumpet, Hyderabad to meet the boy who was injured in the stampede caused at the screening of Pushpa 2 premiere. The boy's mother succumbed to death in the stampede. The boy had faced injuries, for which he is admitted to the hospital. The visit was kept 'confidential' to maintain public order. It comes after a month to the incident and after Allu Arjun got bail in the case. The actor's father paid his visit early.
