The Uttar Pradesh government is all set to create for an extraordinary event at the upcoming Mahakumbh, set to take place on January 13, 2025. With an aim to make history, the state plans to break four Guinness World Records during the largest religious gathering in the world.
The first record attempt will focus on the largest synchronized sweeping drive, involving 15,000 participants. This collective effort will highlight the importance of cleanliness and environmental responsibility, echoing the Mahakumbh's central values. It is designed to convey a message of shared responsibility in maintaining the sacredness of the gathering.
The second record will aim for the largest e-vehicle parade, featuring 1,000 e-rickshaws and other eco-friendly vehicles. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to sustainable transportation, promoting eco-friendly solutions to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring smooth and environmentally-conscious travel during the Kumbh.
The third record attempt will involve creating the most handprint paintings in 8 hours, with 10,000 participants contributing their handprints to a massive art piece. This endeavor celebrates the unity and diversity of Mahakumbh's participants, with each handprint symbolizing the shared values and collective spirit of the event.
The fourth record aims for the largest river-cleaning campaign, with 300 volunteers working across multiple locations in Prayagraj. This initiative highlights the event's deep connection to nature and emphasizes the importance of environmental protection, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the river in the Mahakumbh.
To ensure the success of these ambitious record attempts, a dedicated team has been formed by the Uttar Pradesh government in collaboration with the Prayagraj Mela Authority. The team will work closely with Guinness World Records officials to ensure that all guidelines and standards are met. A precise verification process will track the number of participants, and detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be developed for each record category. Additionally, the team will conduct walkthroughs of the final procedures to ensure everything runs smoothly during the event.
The Mahakumbh Mela, scheduled for 2025, is poised to be not only the largest religious gathering in the world but also a massive economic catalyst for the state of Uttar Pradesh. With an expected 40-45 crore pilgrims attending the event, the Mela is set to generate an astounding Rs.25,000 crore in revenue for the state. Spread across approximately 4,000 hectares, the Mahakumbh will be a spectacle of faith, culture, and commerce, bringing together people from all corners of India and beyond. As the most significant event for millions of devotees, the Mela also provides an unparalleled opportunity for economic growth, tourism, and job creation.Â
